 I have been
blessed by the miracle of lives touching and intersecting mine.
The power of the energy shared and the gift of another’s soul
and spirit spilling into my own soul created the capacity that I
possess as healer and teacher. One man whose life intersected
mine in this way was Donald E. Wydra, who gifted me with his
soul and spirit. As the co-developer of Discovery, his was a
guiding, loving touch which extended from our first efforts
together, across thirty years of work, and until his death.
Part of what I do, the process of
the work, the two-pronged function of discovery/creation is his
gift. Out of the dialectic between us (he so focused on the
masculine qualities of creation; I so directed toward the
receptive quality of the feminine discovery) was formed the
intra-section of both views into a wholly functioning protocol
for the care and treatment of all patients. This protocol
applies for those who seek us out for medical issues and those
dealing with psychological concerns. It is a fundamental tenet
of Discovery that the way in which the individual manages power
is normative to their health and disease.
When he was ill, Donald Wydra would
talk to me about Discovery and where he saw the future of the
Centers leading. Little did he know that the power of his
leaving, his illness, and ultimately his death, would be the
energy that almost catapulted (ahhh, flying metaphors again!!!)
us into a future time of healing for so many others. But this is
the nature of integration; that which seems disaster often
produces the growth of new wings…the development of the ability
to fly.
